ππ»When it comes to rehabilitating hip and groin injuries & conditions progressing rehabilitation appropriately is key to maximising overall outcomes and the time it takes to get there π―
_ ππ» Hip rehabilitation was explored in detail on @physicalperformanceshow Expert Edition 1️⃣2️⃣9️⃣ feat. UK based physiotherapist & hip specialist Benoy Mathew π¬π§ and these were the 5 movement patterns & variations of the patterns that Benoy sequentially prescribes for hip injury rehabilitation (variations in no structured order):

1️⃣ Lunges: forwards lunge, reverse lunges, bulgarian split squats, & deficit lunges, walking and sliding lunges
.
2️⃣ Dead-lifts: using dumbells or barbells, single leg romanian DLs, sumo DLs, hexagonal or trap bar DLs, conventional DLs, & Romanian DLs, & deficit DLs .
3️⃣ Step ups: forward, backward, lateral step ups, plate overhead, dumbbell rotational, high box, using dumbbells, plates, or barbells. .
4️⃣ Squats: body weight, chair supported, sumo, pulses, single leg, double leg, goblet, dumbbell or barbell or kettlebell, back squats, pistol, spanish squats, Cossak squats, isometrics, squat to press, plie squats π️♂️

5️⃣ Plyometrics: double leg hops, skipping, forward+ sideways + backwards jumps-single and double leg, box jumps, hurdles + more ⚡️

‼️TAKE HOME: if you are rehabilitating a hip injury be sure to work with your therapist to stage movement patterns into your rehabilitation. This should promote optimal outcomes and avoid greater than necessary potential flare ups in getting there ✅
