Are Trigger Points Really a Thing?

Palpation studies show the assessment of trigger point to be unreliable. If your treatment, whether smashing, needling etc, is based upon palpation, the least we can have is reliability. (study here)
In Modern Manual Therapy, we show pain free ways to inhibit tender areas, but without focusing on "eliminating trigger points" or eliciting referral or twitch responses. There are times when a higher tone/tender area may be limiting motion, but you don't need to needle it or smash it with a ball.

This video is my quick take on what trigger points are and why palpation is unreliable.
