Quick Links!
Today's Quick Links are from Physio Spot, Physio Blogger, and Body in Mind.
Physio Spot is running a 3 part interview series with Dr. Shirley Sahrmann. Dr. Sahrmann talks about aging well and what her current routines are. Very impressive for a woman her age, being more active than a majority of much younger individuals.
Do you want to have a similar understanding of movement to how Physio Blogger looks at things? Look no further than a recent post of his. Interesting breakdown of processes that occur automagically in our minds, namely how the bones and joints move, plus how the muscles react.
I am not sure if I ever read a biomechanics post on Body in Mind, but here one is! The research being reviewed is whether or not heel rocker shoes versus normal athletic sneakers had an effect on individuals with lower back pain? The study was even funded by a manufacturer of heel rocker shoes. I didn't really know how to answer this question from patients, other than "most likely not." Now we have some evidence.

Also, All Care PT is still looking for a motivated clinician interested in working in the NY City area. Manual therapy and advanced clinical decision making are emphasized along with continuing education. In fact, we are in the talks for mini-residencies by myself including didactic course work and live patient eval and treats several times a year. Bonus!
