Quick Links!
Today's Quick Links come from PT Diagnosis, SMR Blog, and McKenzie MDT.org.
First up for those who feel they have a lack of MDT exposure is a case study from MDT's official site. The case reviews the centralization phenomenon and a case with repeated motion exam and outcomes.
Sports Medicine Research reviews whether or not there were long term differences in delayed ACL repairs. The results are contrary to previously held beliefs and fit along with previous research they reviewed saying some may not be needed at all.
Tim Richardson wrote a great sample letter you can draft to help get PTs to be able to opt out of Medicare and take those patients as private payers. I was flabbergasted to find out I could not have a Medicare beneficiary opt out of Medicare and private pay me. What other insurance has those kinds of regulations? The more I am in private practice, the more I want to go cash based, but should not have to turn away Medicare patients. My short term solution is to tell patients to get HMO based plans so they can opt out.
Lastly, here is the link for the live Google+ hangout with Perry Nickelston of Stop Chasing Pain and NKT. It's at Noon today EST. If you miss it, don't worry! The video will be embedded on both our sites and linked on our social media later!
