Today's Quick Links come from Dynamic Chiropractic, Sports Medicine Research, and Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy.
Dr. Warren Hammer via Dynamic Chiropractic, goes over some interesting research on fascial thickening and its correlation to achilles, cervical, and lumbar pain. This is something that is palpable, and changeable with manual techniques. I'm still not sure we are deforming fascia, especially for the quick changes, but the use of diagnostic US is bringing a lot of what we thought to light in research.
SMR Blog reviewed research on NSAIDs and stress fractures. Which mice with stress fractures healed the slowest and fastest? Follow the link to find out! What's my solution, tell my patients to stop taking NSAIDs!
OMPT Blog - I like the ring of that - is run by some DPT students. They recently wrote up parts 1 and 2 of a case study that seemed straight forward (and is from the mechanism of injury). Follow the links and the comments about her training on part 1, and then read part 2, which was just posted yesterday!
