Quick Links!
Today's Quick Links come from Perry Nickelston, Robb Wolf, My Physical Therapy Space, and Chatelaine.
Always a good read from Dr. Perry Nickelston. This time he reviews the Fundamental 5, for Dynamic Chiropractic. No, it's not like a flying 7! I follow a very similar system in my practice and could not agree more except I also add neurodynamics in there along with tissues and joints.
My wife sent me this link she got from a blog she follows, more fitness related than PT. Here are 10 Things I Learned From the World's Fittest Man. I can relate as up until my third year of college, I was overweight and finally decided to work out, eat right, and overall change my life.
Thanks to Ann Wendel for tweeting this link. Since I am thinking about taking PRI, she thought I would find this post interesting. It is about how using different assessments and correcting breathing helped improve ROM and stability of a strength coach. My favorite part? No matter how successful you are, you should always have someone else assess you. I love to find and correct my deficiencies in movement and exercise, anything that could prevent injury is worth it. Follow the link to Robb Wolf's site.
Selena wrote more on Direct Access on My Physical Therapy Space. I left a comment on my feelings. For those of you who have it, do you use it or not? In her recent posts she quotes the 15-20% self referral business, that was one of my estimates. However, my self referral rate after I discharge someone and they come back for the same or another problem is much higher, at some points 50%.
